Australia Day...

A few photos from Australia Day, took the kids into Surfers Paradise to see the fireworks. Samuel dislikes fireworks big time, it's too noisy for him, we figure he has very sensitive hearing, he stood there while the fireworks were going off with his jumper wrapped around his head & was very teary saying "it hurts my ears Mummy, it really hurts my ears" poor little guy :( anyway it was all over in about 10 mins & he was fine!

Looking very patriotic... Sam desperately wanted a flag to wear as a cape! the souvenir shop came in handy for these!




I suck at taking photos of fireworks, but that's ok, this was right at the end, they were big & very loud.

Holiday Fun...

We've been busy with buying school shoes, uniforms etc., only a few bits & pieces left to do & the covering of the books, I only have about 20 something to do! Tayla, Sam & I went to see "The Chipmunk Movie" so funny, the kids loved it, hubby took the older boys to see Cloverfield, very disappointed!!!! the way it was filmed really affected their eyes! they felt nauseous for hours! I've been taking the kids down to Charis early in the morning for a swim before it gets too hot & too crowded, they've really enjoyed doing this, especially Samuel, this kid knows how to have fun. xx

Girls Day Out...

Tayla & I had a girls day out yesterday... Daddy & the boys went to Suncorp Stadium to watch QLD Roar play, I think we had so much more fun than they did :) First we started with a bit of shopping! some MORE new clothes for Missy, as one lady put it... beautiful clothes for a beautiful girl, I couldn't agree more! then it was time for dinner which was delicious, then we went for a walk along the waterfront at Southport before heading to the movies to watch Enchanted... anything with McDreamy in it is a winner in my eyes!! and to finish up a perfect day out, we stopped at Zarraffa's for a caramelized mocha & an iced chocolate! It was the best time I've had in along time :) then hubby phoned wondering when we were going to be home???? after all it was 9.45pm!!! who knew? as the saying goes "time flies when you're having fun" I'll say 6 hours worth!!!! I highly recommend it... I'm already planning the next one :) xxx

Definitely time to go home, Tayla is such a character, she kept trying to sneak a sip of my coffee & ran to this tree & this is what she was doing... such a ham... but she's all mine & I love her so much :) xxx

Fairy in my garden...

It's a shame they grow up so quickly!! Photos like this are very quickly on their way out for me... Tayla will be 10 (double digits already scary very scary) in April, so there are many photos I won't be able to take (unless they are someone else's children) Missy Moo is getting too grown up for fairy photos!!! actually she is not that keen on having her photo taken at all!!!! :( very frustrating & the boys have never been keen, Samuel will, with the right amount of bribery!!!! & seeing as he is my last baby I have no more subjects of my own to annoy with my camera! :) Tayla has agreed to let me photograph her in her new dress that Daddy bought for her & only because I said it was for Nanna. I'm so glad I persevere though... because if I didn't, I wouldn't have photos like this that make me smile & help me to remember those special childhood memories!!!! I also know that one day she will thank me for it!! We have a farewell bbq today for family from Melbourne, they head back on Tuesday, so had better go & get organized... hope you all have a great weekend! xx

Okay nothing really going on around here, thanks to the weather!!!! haven't been taking many photos, but wanted to post some from last year... just some of the kids taken about this time last year. Hope you're all enjoying the holidays, we have started on the school stuff, Tayla & Sam had their books delivered last week so they wanted their books covered in contact asap... I really dislike that job but I'm also the only one who can!!! so have started that job as well as naming pencils, textas, rulers etc, next week it's school shoes & haircuts, it never seems to end... didn't we just get over Christmas???? & low & behold on the 1st of Jan there were Easter Eggs in the shops as well as hot cross buns... no wonder time goes so quickly!!! :) xx
